Published in Digital, Photo Tips

JOBO’s new photoGPS device attaches directly to the hotshoe of any digital camera and automatically captures GPS data whenever a picture is snapped. Raw data is stored in the device’s 128MB internal memory with a capacity to hold approximately 1000 locations.

Software is included with the unit and is used to transfer the GPS data to your PC (a Mac version is due by the end of 2008). The software is also used to calculate locations, nearby points of interest, latitude, longitude and altitude of each photo via the internet.

The device weighs 2 ounces and offers USB 2.0 connectivity and battery recharging and should be available in October 2008, with Mac OS versions released by the end of the year.

MSRP for the unit is $159. More information is available at www.jobo.com
