Olympus releases Studio 2.0

Olympus has a major update of its Olympus Studio RAW conversion and camera-control software for photographers using its E-System DSLRs. Version 2.0 features a new user interface and is finally compatible with Intel Macs and Windows Vista as well as supporting the latest E-410 and E-510 cameras. Olympus has also added CD sleeve design and printing functionality along with a file backup system to make Studio close to a ‘one stop shop’ workflow solution. Olympus Studio 2.0 is available now as a 30 day trial from the Olympus site – link after the jump.

DPExpert has a review of the Sigma SD14 and writes, “The price of the Sigma is the problem. It is more expensive than the Nikon D200 and the Canon 30D. Happy Sigma owners argue that the image quality from the Foveon sensor is so superior to the conventional CCD/CMOS that the price is justified. We did a crude subjective comparison with a Nikon D80 (10 megapixels) and concluded that the Sigma has better edge definition without any nasty sharpening artefacts and therefore has more apparent resolved detail. Kodak EasyShare C875 Review at Macworld

Macworld has a review of the Kodak EasyShare C875 and writes, “In testing, the exposure and contrast of both a still-life shot and a flash photo of a mannequin looked well balanced, with bright and accurate colors. There was little distortion, although several test shots could have been sharper. Overall, the C875 earned average scores for image quality from a jury. The C875 comes with 32MB of internal storage and an SD card slot, but no bundled memory card. Leica Digilux 3 firmware 2.0

Leica has today released firmware version 2.0 for its Digilux 3 DSLR. Headlining the update is the addition of a ‘Mode 3′ setting to the optical stabilization system which corrects only longitudinal camera movement and is ideal for ‘panning’ action shots. Other enhancements include improvements to the LiveView system and replay facility – most notably a replay zoom – as well as making adjustment of the ISO value easier whilst in AE mode.
